Today Colombia plays Brazil in the quarter finals and I am scared. SCARED.
But first: Oh Mexico…BRUH. The team had been doing great until they faced off with the Netherlands last week (Where is that even? It looks pasty). The big story was Mexico’s last minute substitute, Guillermo Ochoa, making all the saves and having great curly hair.
We’ll also miss Giovani Dos Santos. Ok, I will
But back to Colombia: I am officially Team Colombia. As I mentioned before, I have Colombian family now. Plus, cute jersey!
The World Cup has been won by 8 countries during 19 tournaments. These countries have a tendency to dominate often but not this year: Italy, Spain, Portugal and England are all out. It has been really interesting to watch new generations of stars emerge and surprise everyone. This is the case with James Rodriguez of Colombia. Pronounced HA-MESS
Not only charming us with dance but also with some damn beautiful goals:
He even has some famous fans like Lebron and Rihanna:
And some local Toronto support (not my car):
Brazil has won the tournament 5 times, the most of any country. Today’s game is gonna be a close one. Brazil has their own young star but it’s obviously all about GOALOMBIA 4 ME.
And yes, these are very much mine:
