My second day in Victoria with ma good pal Elizabeth (aka pretty boo, aka liverbits)
We did a lot of nothing and it was awesome so here’s a hair appreciation post because all I did was take pictures of it.

After a week of -40 temperatures (same in celsius & farenheit!), I caught a virus and spent most of my Saturday in a bit of agony (I love drama). I woke up feeling better and took the pup for a much needed walk at the off-leash park. Between sunshine, moderate temperatures, his enthusiasm and the support of a select few, I somehow felt hope make its way back into my heart. So I drew one in the snow.
Stuff works but I’m cleaning it up a bit. Check back soon.
So when I used to throw parties, I liked doing the promotion work too. Gotta put that design degree to use! Plus, I like having control over things.
Imma do a top music stuff post. But first this: My former DJ partner was surprised to hear that Interpol’s Turn on the bright lights is one of my all time favourite records ever. Yes, some white dudes who went to private school made something I connect with deeply. What I play in da club is much different than this. So are my favourites of the year.
I’m not as much into bands. At one point they all started to blend together and my knowledge of new acts seems to be stuck somewhere around 2005. That’s not to say I’m not excited about what’s out there these days. I really really am. It’s hard to pay attention to everything so this will be scattered. I have internet brain and a love for pretty commercial, big pop stuff.
I posted about my experience at the spring Royal Bison but never told ya what I made. Well, here it is:
Lemme explain…
Much of my immigrant experience has been rooted in a feeling of randomness. Why Edmonton? I mean, I know there are all sorts of socioeconomic reasons why Alberta was the place where many of us end up but this doesn’t add up to home.
I took part in the spring’s Royal Bison Craft Sale. I will post my goods sometime soon. In the meantime, here are some pretty people that said Hello. Also, check out the winter bison on November 26 & 27, 2011. (I won’t be there but all of Edmonton will be)
A lil preview
SP playing some family-friendly tunes.
