So it’s been over week now of futbol and it was obviously ambitious\u00a0to think I could blog every day about it but whatever, here’s some damn fine reporting via me.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest stories is that 2010 Champions, Spain, was eliminated pretty much immediately. I have complicated feelings about Spain. Mostly I wonder if Canadian First Nations look at white people and think “Oh your people colonized mine” because that’s what I think when I look at the Spanish. So it’s odd to cheer for them but they are undeniably handsome with a good looking jersey.<\/p>\n

Ever since the last cup, I had an affinity for the sensitive goalie whose sticker is not his best side; Iker Casillas.<\/p>\n

But the losses were hard.<\/p>\n

\"Screen<\/a>\"Screen<\/a>S’ok boo.<\/em><\/p>\n

And me and Talya<\/a> exchanged some bummed out selfies.\"IMG_4714\"<\/a> \"IMG_4698\"<\/a><\/p>\n

More losses hitting close to home as a family friend headed down to Brazil to see his beloved Honduras. He even made it on TV and on the FIFA website! (Hi Memo!)<\/em><\/p>\n

<< Even the guy from my sticker book was not feeling good about this.It’s a big deal to make it to the tournament for sure but it doesn’t seem to make the heartbreak any easier.<\/p>\n

And then there are the surprises like Colombia! Their superstar player has been out with an injury but the young guys are sure stepping it up.<\/p>\n

I have recently become invested in this team via my family and how my sister made a baby with a Colombian. But how do you not love the team that does this after a goal?<\/p>\n
